A set of benchmarks describing how higher education is responding to AI in arts and creative practice — designed to inform policy, institutional planning, and training pathways.

What the Benchmarking Initiative measures

Drawing on the data and cases gathered through the Fieldscan, the Benchmarking Initiative develops a structured set of indicators describing how higher education is responding to AI in arts and creative disciplines. The benchmarks are intended to be cited, downloaded, and reproduced — usable by policymakers, institutional leaders, funders, and researchers building on the Observatory’s work.

How the benchmarks will be published

Benchmarks will be released alongside the methodology used to develop them and the data underlying each indicator. Where the underlying data permits, the Observatory will publish reusable, well-documented datasets together with the headline findings.
